Never underestimate the dollar store again… all I have to say is whoa. I knew that the dollar store was the best bargain for basic off-brand staples in a pinch you know, tissue paper, paper plates, cheap picture frames etc. but check out these awesome DIY projects I found while browsing. First up, is this gorgeous dollar store chalkboard made from a tray and a plate holder… so cute and great for a holiday gift!
Next is a project by blogger Jen K. that I think might be the perfect way to create the ABC’s in my playroom makeover. She used simple string and nails to create word graphics in her kitchen. (Click on photo for tutorial link) Simply brilliant!!
I found this cute paper napkin table runner made with double-sided tape and ribbon as a perfect, inexpensive substitute for beautiful linens at your next party.. may have to try that for Gemma’s birthday party coming up.
For the sewer in you, or for a gift for a sewer… how cool are these picture frame pin cushions!?!? I love this idea and the dollar store is always full of these supplies. I could get really creative with this.
Lastly, I have to say that this Bean Necklace from High on DIY really blew my mind. Dollar store statement piece… wow! Every picture contains the link to a tutorial for each project so you can start on some of these too. Talk about shocking, the dollar store rules.
